As we continue to pursue our goals expanding our reach into Philadelphia and surrounding communities, we have been able to identify and support several inner-city student-athletes in their development and embracing of the pole vault and track and field.
After one of the most successful Team VA high school seasons ever, the summer begins with the addition of two (2) inner-city athletes to the Team VA summer track team to support their development in the pole vault and track and field.
These student-athletes were identified by their middle school and high school coaches for their motivation and desire to improve as well as their qualification for Team VA’s Community Outreach Program. They have each been awarded full scholarships covering the Team VA membership to participate and train with Team VA for the entire summer.
Additionally, two more student-athletes have been selected to attend LoJo Vault Assault Summer Pole Vault Camp hosted on Germantown Academy’s campus on Saturday, July 15th and Sunday, July 16th.
Through the end of the outdoor track and field high school season, Team VA vaulters enjoyed 2 state champions (NJ),2 state runner-ups (NJ), 3 third place state finishes (PA/NJ), 4-Sectional champions (NJ), and 7 conference champions (NJ/PA).
Out of the 8 Team VA athletes who qualified for the Meet of Champions (NJ), 5 took home medals.
